UBE Launches Specialty Material Application Center at Osaka Research & Development Center
2025/05/23 News ReleaseUBE Corporation (President: Yuki Nishida; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, "UBE") announced today that it has opened a new building, the Specialty Material Application Center (hereinafter, "the facility") at its Osaka Research & Development Center, located within the Sakai Factory in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. The opening ceremony was held today, and the facility has officially begun operations.
The facility will serve as a central hub for driving innovation in composites, with a focus on nylon and other engineering plastics, and delivering these advancements on a global scale.
The facility is designed to seamlessly and efficiently advance the entire process of development, from composite materials to applications. UBE will leverage the facility to deliver innovative approaches to creating new value, promoting collaborative application development with customers in a manner that is highly attuned to social and market needs.
For many years, UBE has based its composite business development activities at the Ube Chemical Factory in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. By consolidating these functions at the Osaka Research & Development Center, UBE aims to strengthen access to customers and sales offices both in and outside Japan, further accelerate information gathering and development speed, and realize timely product development that aligns with current market needs.
