UBE starts to commercialize a brand new series of UBEDISP hyperdispersants specially designed for dispersing inorganic particles into non-polar and medium polarity media

Controlling the dispersion stability of paints and inks properties plays a key role during their production, storage and application. To help improve this, UBE has developed UBEDISP, which are graft-polymeric hyperdispersants for coatings applications. UBE opens a new Research & Development center in Spain

(October 31, 2016)
UBE has opened a new Research & Development center in their chemical site in Castelló de la Plana (Spain). In the 2000 m 2 new laboratories, more than 30 technicians will work in synthesizing and characterizing new products, offering technical support to customers and also running new pilot plants facilities.
UBE has recently increased the investment in R&D, devoting more than 1% of total sales. The main innovation activities are focused on the synthesis of new polycarbonate diols, polyamides and other high performance intermediates, as well as the development of new applications for food packaging, automotive, coatings, elastomers, adhesives & sealants, among others.
This new R&D center will reinforce the cooperation with customers, technical institutes and universities to innovate and develop industrial and technological solutions, sustainable and more environmentally friendly due to lower resources consumption. UBE will strengthen the technical assistance to customers in Europe, America, Middle East and Africa.
With this new facility, UBE will continue the expansion of Polycarbonate diol ETERNACOLL ®.

UBE has developed ETERNACOLL ® UD Polycarbonate polyols series, which is a family specially designed for the manufacture of thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyester elastomers, polyurethane dispersions, urethane acrylate, and polycarbonate diacrylate and thermoset resins.
ETERNACOLL ® UD Polycarbonate polyols-based resins can be used in UV-curing products, since its double-bonds in the polyol chain can react with themselves and other UV-curing groups under standard UV conditions, providing high hardness, toughness, scratch resistance and excellent mechanical properties, as well as superior and long-term retention of performance.

UBE to Expand Production Capacity of Polycarbonate Diol by Opening New Facility in Thailand

Ube Industries, Ltd. announced that its Thai subsidiary, UBE Fine Chemicals (Asia) Co., Ltd., will open a production facility for polycarbonate diol to meet rising global demand. The new facility is designed to manufacture 3,000 tonnes of Polycarbonate diol ETERNACOLL ® annually and is scheduled to start production in October 2015.
